FSM campus graduates 22 students

COLONIA, Yap (Yap State Government) — The FSM Fisheries & Maritime Institute of the College of Micronesia-FSM held its 9th Class 5 Commencement Exercises at the FMI campus.  This year, FMI graduated 22 students.

The graduation ceremony began shortly after 1 p.m. at the Seamanship Shelter. Pastor Ruda began with the Invocation, followed by the general singing of the FSM national anthem, and the welcoming remarks by Capt. Matthias J. Ewarmai, director of FMI.

The keynote address was given by Speaker Henry Falan, as the governor and lt. governor were unavailable. The speaker also presented the certificates to the graduates, along with Ewarmai, and administered the oath and acceptance of graduates.

Abraham Inos of Chuuk state represented the class in giving the graduation speech, followed by a song from students and staff members. The ceremony concluded with the benediction by Pastor Ruda and the change of command ceremony.
