Based on the initial count, NMC said that it will award119 diplomas, 11 of which to students with double majors and one with triple majors.

Only 83 of the 106 will participate in the commencement exercise, NMC said, adding that the final count of participants will be conducted on May 16.

The breakdown of graduating students is as follows:
•    AA Liberal Arts – 54
•    AAS Business Administration Accounting Emphasis – 10

This semester, NMC said it will confer degrees to over 83 graduates, eight with bachelor of science and 75 with associates degrees.

This does not include the 41 students from the Adult Basic Education Program and the General Education Diploma Program.

NMC said  preparations for the graduation are still ongoing and are doing very well.

The graduation committee meets every week and the graduating class meets once a week, NMC said.

The ceremony will be held at the Marianas High School gymnasium on May 21, 2011.

This will be the 31st commencement exercise for the college.

“Graduation is a momentous occasion for our students and their families,” NMC interim President Lorraine T. Cabrera said.

“It’s a time to reflect on and recognize all hard work and sacrifice that has been invested in earning a degree,” she told Variety in an email.

NMC will announce the final numbers in mid-May when grades for the current semester are submitted.
